About us:

The new National Institute for Health and Care Research Policy Research Unit in Reproductive Health (PRU) https://www.ucl.ac.uk/health/health-policy-ucl/policy-research-unit-reproductive-health#:~:text=The Policy Research Unit in,health and healthcare in England. is a £3 million research investment over 3 years with the core purpose of producing high quality research evidence to inform policy regarding reproductive health in England. The PRU is a multi-partner collaboration involving the Universities of Oxford, Birmingham, Warwick, LSHTM and Hywel Dda University Health Board. It has a focus on addressing health inequalities and working in a co-produced way with people the work impacts.

The PRU is hosted at the UCL EGA Institute for Women’s Health, whose mission is to bring together clinicians and researchers from a diverse range of disciplines to deliver excellence and innovation to make a real and sustainable difference to women's and babies’ health locally, nationally and worldwide.

About the role:The post holder will assist the PRU Co-Directors, project leads, and theme leads in supporting the conduct of policy-related research in reproductive health. They will work with support, as part of a team, to develop and deliver research in line with the specified research programme and urgent requests from the Department of Health and Social Care.

Salary range is for Research Assistants only; UCL Grade 6 Sp25 to Sp28 .

This role is an open-ended contract with an initial funding end date of 31 December 2026.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require the right to work in the UK..

About you:

You must have an MSc (or equivalent) in a related topic and experience of qualitative and/or quantitative research in reproductive or women’s health. You should be able to work productively and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams across organisations, have strong written and oral communication skills and a willingness to develop your research ability. A commitment to co-production and equality, diversity and inclusion is essential. You will be supported to develop a career and training plan and to take advantage of the UCL environment.
