Clinical Research Dental Nurse

The role

The Dental Clinical Trials unit conducts clinical trials of dental interventions and studies to investigate the prevalence of dental conditions as well as lab based dental research. The unit is recruiting a dental nurse, who will work under the guidance of the senior dental nurse/study co-ordinators in the team to help co-ordinate dental clinical trials and take the lead in organising and overseeing all the clinical aspects of clinical studies.

What will you be doing?

The post holder will be responsible for organising the practical clinical aspects of studies involving patients/healthy volunteers. They will advise the Principal Investigator on proposed study procedures with respect to the lengths of the appointments required and practicalities of administering interventions. They will also design documents to capture source data for clinical studies. They will ensure study clinical areas are maintained according to cross-infection protocols, and study supplies are available. They will be responsible for the day to day running of dental clinical trials including ensuring study volunteers have the information they need and understand what they are being asked to do and ensuring study paperwork is completed accurately.

You should apply if:

• You are an experienced dental nurse and currently GDC registered
• You are interested in dental research
• You have excellent communication skills
• You are able to work well under pressure
• You have experience of dental clinical trials

Contract type: Open ended with funding until 30/09/2025

Shift pattern: 35 hours per week
