John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford, OX3 9DU
The post holder will carry out research investigating cortical organisation using MRI datasets. The project aims to develop and test new approaches to characterising the relationship between cortical structure and the arrangement of higher-order cognitive functions. The primary analytic approach will characterise features of the cerebral cortex using a variety of methods to = investigate cortical gradients. Applicants should be proficient in MRI data analysis and developing novel analytic tools. Specific studies related to the position may include mapping differences in cortical organisation in the absence of sensory (visual/auditory) input, alongside mapping cortical organisation across interindividual variability and during development.
This position is embedded within the European Research Council (ERC)-funded project ‘Cortical gradients of functional integration’. It is split between The Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN) at the University of Oxford, where this position is based, and the Integrative Neuroscience and Cognition Center (INCC) at the University of Paris. The post holder will have the opportunity to work across both groups and benefit from shared resources.
It is essential that you hold or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil ideally in cognitive sciences, data science, computer science, neuroscience, psychology, or other related discipline together with relevant experience and have a proven high level of technical competence in neuroimaging analysis techniques. Specifically, expertise in structural and functional MRI data analysis as well as multimodal approaches. It is desirable that you have knowledge of HPC clusters and ideally experience with data handling and analysis on SLURM job systems and have previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations ideally with a track record of high-quality research publications.
Please see the below 'Job Description' for further details on the responsibilities and selection criteria, as well as further information about the university and how to apply.
