Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Ahorangi/Ahonuku Professor/Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology to join Te Kura Mātai Hinengaro - School of Psychology on a permanent, full-time contract. In this role you will be responsible for research, teaching and supervision in the Clinical Psychology programme.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Teach child Clinical Psychology and other relevant clinical topics at undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Assume the role of Deputy Director of the Clinical Psychology programme
  • Assist the academic and clinical staff to redevelop the existing clinical Psychology programme

Key requirements include the following:

  • An established high-quality research portfolio in the area of Clinical Psychology
  • Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership
  • Practice experience as a Clinical Psychologist and eligibility for registration as a Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand
  • Extensive evidence of high-quality teaching at tertiary level in the area of child Clinical Psychology, and Clinical Psychology more broadly

We are committed to a science-informed practice model and a transdiagnostic approach to the teaching of adult and child Clinical Psychology. Our programme is unique in the way we integrate critical methods from the philosophy of science, theoretical and empirical psychology, and psychiatry into our teaching.
