Job Description
We are seeking an outstanding Data Manager who will have operational responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of student data and processes within Student and Registry Services.
This new role will lead a busy and dynamic team to support colleagues to achieve excellent data quality whilst supporting process improvements to ensure Registry services are digitally adaptive, transformative and in line with sector practice.
This role will also have operational responsibility for several key activities that will require careful planning, strategic oversight, and effective coordination to ensure seamless execution. These responsibilities will include managing resources, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various departments to achieve organisational goals. The role will also involve continuously assessing processes to identify areas for improvement and implementing best practices to optimise efficiency and productivity.
About the Role
As the Registry Data manager, you will work closely with colleagues across the University to support the work around ensuring excellent data quality and provision whilst providing support and expert advice to colleagues within Student and Registry Services on data -related enquiries, resolving complex queries and identifying solutions.
You will play a key role in setting up new courses, ensuring that these are appropriated reflected alongside current course provision within the SLC Course Management System.
The role will also have responsibility for managing the SLC attendance management system and will plan and coordinate team activities to ensure the Attendance Confirmation Reporting (ACR) is completed within any deadlines set.
About You
We are looking for someone with excellent IT skills who has a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Accuracy and attention to detail is key within this role as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders both across the University and with external partners and regulatory bodies.
The successful candidate will have experience of establishing and maintaining effective systems and procedures and the ability to analyse problems whilst using their initiative in recommending appropriate solutions.
You should be an effective line manager, with the ability to use discretion in handling confidential information and competing priorities.
