The Estates Grounds Maintenance team maintain all external soft landscaping, sports facilities and habitats found on all three campuses and halls of residence. 

The Sports Operations Supervisor is a new post whose principal role is to act as a working supervisor with responsibility for sports pitch maintenance and development, ensuring match ready facilities for the Sportspark.

The post will be responsible for the provision of Football, Rugby Union, American football, Lacrosse and other sports on natural pitches along with the maintenance of synthetic surfaces.The post could give someone with a range of sport pitch maintenance experience the opportunity to progress into a more senior role. This post is based at Whiteknights Campus and Bulmershe Sports facility.

You will be:

  • Able to undertake all lifting and manual tasks associated with the role
  • Able to deliver match ready facilities  at times at short notice
  • Able to operate a range of sports maintenance equipment including tractors
  • Able to plan and schedule  sports maintenance tasks
  • Competent in basic office IT

You will have:

  • An unlimited UK valid driving licence enabling you to drive light vans and between campuses.
  • GCSE or equivalent pass grade in English Language
  • A qualification  in sports pitch maintenance  or related subject (NVQ level 2/3)
  • Previous experience of managing natural and artificial pitches
  • Previous experience of managing sports / grounds maintenance teams
  • A range of NPTC/ LANTRA certificates of machine and pesticide use competence
