We are excited to be expanding our animal care team by recruiting this full-time senior position. The successful candidate will be passionate about animal welfare and research excellence and looking for an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, forward-thinking and vibrant team at a leading research University.
Your focus in this active supervisory role will be the day-to-day organisation of an operational area of the animal facility and the training and mentoring of a small team of technical staff; transferring knowledge and skills in an effective manner and encouraging others to be the best they can be. Accordingly, staff must be highly dependable and able to demonstrate in a consistent and reliable manner the behavioural competencies necessary in valuing others. Senior technicians also help to maintain an overview of the performance of animal studies undertaken by research colleagues and conduct, advise, and/or assist with such procedures when appropriate and required.
At the University of Nottingham, we strive towards excellence and will provide all the support you need to nurture your talent, to develop and reach your professional and personal career goals in a friendly and professional environment. We are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. We strive to provide a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes.
