Birmingham Newman University is growing and we are seeking a Communications and Events Manager to support delivery of internal and external communications and key events both off and on campus.
The role sits within our marketing and communications team, responsible for student recruitment, brand and communications to a variety of stakeholders internally and externally to the University.
The role manages internal communications across a number of platforms and stakeholder groups including students, staff and wider partners. Our internal communications supports development of our Birmingham Newman community and ensures longer term retention of students and staff. The role also supports in delivery of our external communications via external press releases, media engagement and web updates.
The role coordinates a number of events that support on campus engagement of our communities with a calendar of events delivered throughout the year. In addition to these events, the role leads in coordination and delivery of our on campus open days and applicant experience days that support in student recruitment and attraction to the University.
The post holder will need to have experience of working in a similar role, ideally within education, with strong verbal and written skills. The role requires strong organisational skills and individual agency to manage workload and proactively support the delivery of communication and event activities. The post holder should have experience of communicating via different platforms and be able to design and deliver appropriate communications relevant to the audience and channel.
A willingness and ability to work flexibly is fundamental to this position. This is a fixed term post, part-time (0.8FTE) covering maternity leave of the substantive post holder.
