About the role
The co-location of the Gatsby Unit and Sainsbury Wellcome Centre has created an international centre of excellence for neuroscience research. We have a specialist team of research technology professionals, both delivering the services and systems which make data and compute-intensive research possible, and discovering and innovating new tools, practices, and systems.
Within this role you will design, develop, enhance and automate new computing and data infrastructures including anything from high-performance and high-throughput parallel infrastructures to services for data management; Support the operation of research platforms and tools, assisting researchers with advice and help as needed, and recommending and implementing improvements based on user feedback; and act as a driver of best practice in research infrastructure technologies and/or applications.
About you
You should have experience managing and deploying: * Linux-based HPC clusters, from bare-metal using OOB/PXE tools & Puppet or equivalent; * Linux based workstations (modelled on the HPC nodes);* Ceph & CephFS - or equivalent parallel, high-availability filesystems;* Linux software stacks based on Environment Modules or equivalent, suitable for CPU & GPU codes. Familiarity with Python, TensorFlow and other relevant languages/platforms would be desirable.
