Soft FM Services at the University of Essex are committed to delivering great service to our customers. We believe that we can best achieve this through highly valued and motivated staff who share our values.
Soft FM Services are responsible for cleaning and portering services to the university’s academic, administrative, and residential estate. Soft FM facilitates all university key events, such as graduation and open days and ensures areas are prepared for other events such as receptions and summer conferences.
Soft FM Services are looking for an enthusiastic Team Clean Manager to join our busy team. The successful candidate will have experience managing teams of semiskilled individuals and ideally have experience in the cleaning or similar industry.
We are looking for a self-motivated and personable individual who has a real passion for delivering cleaning services, has management experience and is eager to work in a university setting.

The current working pattern is 11:45am to 8:00pm Monday – Friday. However, in the interests of working efficiency the University may from time-to-time review current working patterns. Changes to working patterns resulting from this will be subject to a minimum of 21 calendar days’ notice.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential you can fulfil the staff vetting requirements in respect of University Positions of Trust.
At the University of Essex, internationalism and diversity is central to who we are and what we do. We are committed to being a cosmopolitan, internationally oriented university that is welcoming to staff and students from all countries, faiths and backgrounds, where you can find the world in one place.
To support this commitment we have our Global Forum, a staff-led network that promotes and celebrates the rich cultural diversity among Essex staff, and our Colchester campus based Faith Centre, which hosts regular services, meetings and events organised by our chaplains and faith representatives.
