Within the Energy Emissions and Environment Research Group (EEERG), we have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant in flow diagnostics. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of Fluid Flow projects, including many with industrial collaborators.
The School of Computing and Engineering is a research-intensive environment where academics and researchers are developing tomorrow’s technologies, with a strong focus in both fundamental and applied research. EEERG provides opportunities for the development of researchers, and we will support your ambitions. You will be provided with the opportunity to grow your career and become the best version of yourself.
We are seeking an experienced and highly able researcher who has experience in the design, development and use of fluid systems and flow measuring instruments as well as experience in the use of CFD software (OpenFoam and Ansys) for the analysis of fluid flow systems.
You will hold a PhD (or be close to finishing your PhD) in Fluid Mechanics or a related subject area and have a first degree in Mechanical Engineering or cognate discipline. You will also be able to interface directly with engineers and scientists and represent the team at meetings with collaborating companies and in the wider national and international scientific community.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
