We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Chemical Biological and Materials Engineering for an ambitious post-doctoral researcher looking to use their skills in materials science to investigate glass dissolution and the biocidal properties of glass. You will join the world-leading ISL research group as part of a collaboration with Glass Technology Services evaluating elemental release from glasses and their biocidal properties to support the design of new antimicrobial materials. The post is for five months starting 1st October 2024.
You should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in materials or an appropriate physical science and have strong laboratory skills including aqueous phase analysis and solid state characterisation techniques. The post-holder will also have knowledge and experience of glassy materials and the application of geochemical and surface chemical analyses.
