The role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Centre Manager to provide high level advice and support to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CFiE) and be part of its Senior Leadership team.
The Centre further strengthens the links between education, research, entrepreneurship and innovation. You will be joining us during a time of significant development and growth, including the introduction of new programmes. This presents a unique opportunity to help shape the approach we adopt during this crucial period of change.
You will also lead the Professional Services team and contribute to real improvements for staff and students in the effective delivery of our services as we continue to expand.
What will you be doing?
Working in close partnership with the Centre Director on all aspects of Centre administration, you will have responsibility for effective operational management of the Centre and its Innovation Lab. You will support the Centre Leadership Team in the delivery of Centre activities (including administration, procurement, contracts, finance, health and safety, event management, planning and HR) as well as playing a key role in strategic planning and decision making.
You should apply if
Possessing extensive management experience and strong leadership skills, you should also have knowledge of HR practices, experience of policy implementation health and safety regulations. With excellent planning and co-ordination skills, a good understanding of finance and budgetary issues you will also have the ability to support the Centre during a period of change. You must be able to demonstrate you have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities underpinned by excellent computer literacy skills as well as being able to work independently to meet multiple deadlines.
You will possess a proven ability to interact effectively with and influence colleagues, including developing effective relationships in a collegial culture. You must be able to gain the respect of others both within the Centre, the Faculty and other parts of the University, effectively understanding the complexity of working with different academic disciplines.
You will have a knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector, including current issues and regulations.
