Occupational Health actively promotes and supports the University community to maintain good health in the workplace as well as providing support when health issues occur.
Duties of the Role
This is a campus-based role. The post holder will be responsible for delivering, in partnership with the rest of the Workplace, Health Safety and Wellbeing (WHSW) team, to provide a professional, high quality, occupational health provision to Health Care students. This would include delivery of a vaccination programme, completing pre-course health assessments, advice for students on placement, as well as leading on health promotion activities.
Experience and Qualifications Required
The post holder should be able to coordinate and deliver an Occupational Health programme, carrying out preplacement health screening and fitness for course assessments for health care students at our Southend and Colchester campuses. They will also coordinate and deliver a vaccination and phlebotomy programme for health care students in advance of placements and liaise with the relevant schools and placement teams. They will also support the promotion of health and wellbeing initiatives in the University. This will include health checks, weight management programmes, menopause support and smoking cessation.
The postholder will need to have excellent interpersonal skills in working within the team and supporting staff and students that we provide a service for. They should be computer literate and able to manage and organise their own workload, determining operational priorities in order to optimise service delivery.
