We’re looking for a maternity cover for a Senior Events Manager to lead the delivery of our high-profile, large-scale events showcasing the University to the wider Lancashire community, and positively improving its reputation. This will be a fixed term contract for 13 months or until the return of the substantive post holder.
The successful candidate will be an experienced events professional used to working in a complex environment and balancing multiple priorities for yourself and others whilst working against tight deadlines. With previous line management experience, you are likely to have had commercial event experience as well as being accomplished at event project management. You will be a first-class communicator and leader and will have experience of liaising with people at all levels as well as being extremely organised, strategic and have a can-do attitude. You will have a degree in events management or an equivalent qualification.
You will be a motivated leader and resilient self-starter, who thrives as part of a team, experienced in planning workloads, analysing and evaluating data and developing event plans. You will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a good understanding of marketing and promotion. There will be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends and you will work with key stakeholders to deliver external events and conferences through venue hire.
