About the role
King’s Foundations is looking for a experienced EAP professional to join our Pre-sessional and Short Courses team as Lecturer in EAP Education and Pre-sessional and Short Courses Coordinator.
King’s Foundations is a department within the Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL) which provides high-quality international pathway, academic skills, and English language preparation courses for King’s students. Our mission is to enable and empower students to be the best they can be as part of a world-leading university. Valuing diversity, inclusivity, and cultural competency, we provide an outstanding student experience that integrates academic excellence with comprehensive support. We are a team of around 115 colleagues (increasing to over 150 in the summer months) committed to achieving this mission. The department has an annual turnover of around £30 million.
This newly created post is situated within the Pre-sessional and Short Courses team working alongside other Coordinators and associated colleagues. We are currently expanding our range of short courses and developing a portfolio of credit- and non-credit bearing courses in English language, EAP, and Teacher development.
The successful candidate will work within the team to plan, design, and deliver a range of Pre-sessional programmes and short courses, initially focusing on credit-bearing provision. They will use their prior experience in a leadership or management role in EAP to provide innovative contributions towards high-quality learning and teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will be joining King’s Foundations at an exciting time as we support our teaching staff to transfer over to Academic Education Pathway (AEP) contracts. The position is offered on an AEP contract, reflecting the nature of the role and providing a platform for excellence. The role will be subject to a probationary period of 3 years, in line with other academic roles at the College.
We welcome applications from individuals with a strong background in EAP and experience in designing and delivering credit-bearing English courses. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a growing team and the expansion of our short courses offering.
This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
Closing date of 24.9.24
