The School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for the post of Professor/Senior Lecturer in Soft Tissue Surgery. We encourage candidates who have a strong soft tissue bias. The successful candidate will be based in our award-winning Small Animal Hospital on the beautiful Garscube estate. This busy multidisciplinary hospital is staffed by a team of specialists in surgery, internal medicine, neurology, imaging, anaesthesia, oncology and ophthalmology.
State of the art facilities available on-site include 1.5T MRI, CT, linear accelerator, digital radiography, and four fully equipped surgical theatres. Our ‘One Hospital’ team ethos ensures exceptional clinical care can be delivered to our patients, and supports the continual professional development of our vets, nurses and support staff.
The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or equivalent qualification. The role will also involve the delivery of clinical teaching to undergraduates, interns and residents. The post offers a significant element of ‘off clinics’ time for research and scholarship. Certain candidates may be considered for a role that will involve leading high quality clinical research and research-led education in partnership with other divisions and institutes within the College.
Candidates should have an RCVS registrable degree in veterinary medicine and hold a postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Surgery (ECVS, ACVS or RCVS).
