About the Role
The Clinical Trial Practitioner will be part of the Rheumatology Clinical Trials team at the Bart’s Health Arthritis Centre, Mile End Hospital (https://www.qmul.ac.uk/whri/emr/mile-end-clinical/ ), a team composed of 2 Clinical Senior Lecturers, 2 research nurses, 2 clinical trial practitioners, 1 clinical trial coordinator, and 4 clinical fellows, contributing to the delivery of a large portfolio of Clinical Trials with a main focus on precision medicine.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The CTP will be providing professional clinical and administrative support to the Rheumatology Clinical Trials team, being mutually supportive and covering duties as necessary during colleague’s absences and at times additional pressure, as directed.
At Barts Arthritis Centre, Mile End Hospital, Barts Health NHST Trust, the post-holder will provide clinical care for research participants, as delegated by PIs and research nurses, within the boundaries of own knowledge, competence and skill level. The post-holder will support a portfolio of both academic and commercial-hosted clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs) and non-CTIMPs. The post-holder will perform as part of a team of Clinical Trial Practitioners in activities such as identifying patients suitable for entry into clinical trials, organising patient assessments and visits, coordinating collection and preparation of biological samples, and supporting patients throughout the delivery of their care on clinical trials. The post-holder will take part in administrative responsibilities including data entry, maintenance of patient records and creating and maintaining Investigator Site Files.

The post is based at the Primarily based at Mile End Hospital, although the post-holder may be required to move to another of the school’s sites should the need arise. The role is a full-time (35 hrs per week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of mid-October 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £31,421- £35,636 per annum inclusive of London allowance.
