The University of Central Lancashire is looking to appoint a Social Media and Community Engagement Officer who will enhance our digital presence by building and nurturing our internal and external social media communities, delivering excellent customer service and helping to drive student recruitment targets.
The successful candidate will be a marketing and communications professional who can optimise our social media platforms; driving community engagement with a variety of audiences whilst utilising analytical and evaluation skills to ensure an evidence-based approach. You’ll be passionate about delivering engaging and creative training solutions to help strengthen and build our internal community.
Based in the Digital team within Marketing, our service plays a critical role in supporting the University’s wider strategic priorities to establish the brand and profile on a regional, national and international basis, whilst enhancing the quality of marketing communications to our wide range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent experiential learning. You will act as a key contact for internal relationship management. They will build advocacy and nurture an engaged internal community of social media professionals across the University, providing advice, training and best practice guidance on the use and role of social media as a communication tool. You will be a results-oriented all-round team player who is able to forge relationships across the University, with excellent communication skills and the ability to produce accurate work in a busy but exciting environment.
Due to the diverse nature of social media, from time to time and on an ad hoc basis, occasional evening and weekend work will be a feature of this role.
