The Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Cancer Immunology to join Professor Ahmed Ahmed's innovative team in the The Ovarian Cancer Cell Laboratory. This position is crucial for advancing our vaccine development research aimed at preventing ovarian cancer.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in a field with a substantial cancer immunology component. The ideal applicant will have experience leading discovery and preclinical projects progressing to early clinical development, with a focus on T-cell biology and oncology. Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential, including the ability to influence group decisions.
Key responsibilities include utilizing cutting-edge organoid co-culture systems and CRISPR-Cas9 technology. The role demands extensive hands-on experience with handling human cancer tissue, isolating cancer and immune cells, and performing flow cytometry for phenotypic characterization. Applicants should be adept at growing primary T and cancer cells in culture, designing and executing reproducible cytotoxicity assays, and have established expertise in using organoid models and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing.
