Derby College Group (DCG) have a new opportunity for a 2 Student Experience & Pastoral Coaches to join our team and work alongside specific academies to identify students in need of pastoral support. This is a great chance to join a supportive and vibrant team within the College, and you will see first-hand the positive impact you make on the lives of our students.
The Opportunity
We have a full-time permanent opportunity at our historic Roundhouse Campus, and a 4-day fixed-term opportunity until March 2025 at our city centre Joseph Wright Campus. Please indicate in your application form which role you are interested in.
You’ll work directly with students and their families to establish and implement a Pastoral Support Plan, with a specific focus on attendance and behaviours. You’ll deliver a range of extracurricular activities which develop students’ social skills and enable them to discover their character, alongside helping to create a student community, and encourage and support student-driven initiatives.
You’ll also be trained as a Safeguarding Officer supporting the wellbeing of students and will act as a Mental Health First Aider supporting students with their wellbeing. Full training will be provided.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and ambitious individuals. You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and hold a level 3 in coaching and/or mentoring or be willing to work towards this. You’ll be a Mental Health First Aider or willing to work toward achieving this with full support.
