The role:
The University's Office of External Affairs and Communications has a vacancy for a talented communications professional in its busy internal communications team. This is a key role: we are looking for someone who can provide leadership on important internal communications projects and deputise for the Head of Internal Communications.
Day-to-day, you can expect to be at the heart of important University projects and matters of interest to staff and students, advising senior leaders on good communications practice, designing and implementing comms strategies, and engaging faculties, departments and staff in issues that matter to them and to the University.
The person appointed will also play an important role in managing communications in reactive situations and, with colleagues in OEAC and the Colleges, contribute to improving engagement with, and information for, our students.
About you:
The successful candidate will have a strong communications background and will thrive on responsibility. You will have led communications campaigns and projects, be comfortable creating and implementing communications strategies, and be able to produce outstanding content for our internal channels.
While a background in internal communications is desirable, we also place considerable importance on behavioural and professional attributes - things like strategic thinking, the ability to collaborate and negotiate, an understanding of organisational culture, coping with ambiguity and challenges. Please refer to the 'Behavioural attributes' section of the candidate pack, and provide appropriate evidence in your application.
How to apply:
If you have any questions about this vacancy or the application process, please email Andrew Aldridge on Andrew.Aldridge@admin.cam.ac.uk.
