About the College

Buxton and Leek College was recently graded as a "Good" college by OFSTED and has a team of dedicated staff who take pride in supporting learners towards their study and career goals. Our students have access to industry standard facilities, comprehensive support services and benefit from extensive links with a TEF Gold University, the University of Derby. It provides Education Programmes, Qualifications and Apprenticeships for post 16 learners from foundation level to pre degree (1-5) and has sites in Buxton, Leek and Derby. Its position within the University of Derby allows learners to make their full educational journey in the same institution.

About the Role

We are a small and successful team looking to recruit two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to teach Functional Skills and GCSE English at our Buxton and Leek campuses. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner, however, we will consider applications from NQT's who are keen to learn and join our TES award winning and friendly team. 

About You

The ideal candidate will have a related degree (English, English Literature, Creative writing etc) or a Batchelor of Education (Secondary or above) and/or a PGCE. They will also have experience of teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills English and passion and commitment to upskill young people and adults in our community.

Actual hours and days will be described in a ‘Schedule of Work’.
