The University of Salford has a deep history and extensive experience of transforming lives. Since our establishment in 1967, we have educated hundreds of thousands of people, teaching critical skills that have a real and profound impact on the world: constructing our cities, powering our healthcare, driving technological innovation, founding and leading business, tackling the climate crisis, championing a fairer society and celebrating our arts, culture and heritage.
Salford as a city has its roots in innovation, creativity and welfare. We are a city who has always dared to do things differently, with a core focus on social impact and community benefit. Professor Nic Beech joined our university as Vice-Chancellor in October 2023 with a vision of innovating to enrich lives: enabling healthier living, building prosperity & equity, developing creativity and innovation and improving sustainability. As Salford approaches 100 years of being a city, we have a big, bold vision to do things differently as a university. In collaboration with education providers, businesses and third sector organisations across the region, we aim to jointly address the challenges and barriers we know our communities face, and philanthropy will play a pivotal role in addressing this.
