We have a vacancy within our advanced biomedical research facility TBRC and seek a talented individual to join our friendly pre-clinical team. Our skilled team includes biomedical scientists, radiographers, and nursing and animal technicians working alongside outstanding clinical academic surgeons. You might be an experienced radiographer or superintendent seeking a new challenge - we welcome anyone with relevant experience to consider applying.
As an advanced one health research facility we provide services using a range of specialist medical imaging equipment to enable new discoveries (devices, drugs, stem cell and gene therapies) for the treatment of complex conditions to be translated to first in man via rigorous testing for safety and efficacy.
Conceived as a Research Hospital, TBRC’s pipeline of research projects include senior academics from top UK and EU Institutions. This provides the post holder with a unique biomedical network with which to interact and collaborate. Our advanced imaging equipment is also used to provide high resolution imaging for clinical veterinary cases and in support of advanced anatomy education.
Imaging initially includes 3T MRI scanning and C Arm x-ray and vascular angiography. Our MR protocols and sequences include: orthopaedic/muscle skeletal, paediatric, neuro and cardiac such as early and late gad imaging, perfusion cardiac CMR, whole-body imaging, and BOLD techniques such as DWI and DTI. There are plans to expand the imaging modalities in the future to include OCT and echo-doppler. The post holder will also take part in Cath Lab based procedures to operate the C arm for live imaging for the ongoing pre-clinical research projects on large animals.
If you are passionate about cutting edge research and contributing to a vibrant academic community, we invite you to explore the roles we have available and consider becoming a part of our research family.
