We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional to work in Student Wellbeing; a well-established, passionate and hardworking service. We need your help to continue to build on our strong student wellbeing services. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative environment
The role
An exciting opportunity is available for an individual to join the University’s Student Wellbeing Service on a full time (35 hours) permanent basis.
The Specialist Practitioner Team Leader will work as one of three team leaders, within the multi-disciplinary team of specialist practitioners, including specialist support for sexual violence and harassment, counsellors and wellbeing practitioners.
About you
You will be a strong team player that works well in a supportive team structure to ensure the service provides an exemplary student experience. You will contribute to management processes, risk reviews and risk management strategies. You will be confident to chair supportive meetings with students, academics, internal and external stakeholders, work with colleagues to effectively and safely triage students seeking support and take an active role in service development.
You will line manage a team of enthusiastic and dedicated wellbeing practitioners and counsellors.
Successful candidates should have either a relevant degree and/or hold a relevant specialist qualification or be able to demonstrate an equivalent skill level. Experience of working in Higher Education is beneficial but not essential.
There are exciting opportunities to get involved in outreach work and student lifecycle events: Graduation, Exams and Welcome. There is an expectation to work occasional open and visit days, spread across the academic calendar at weekends.
What we can offer you
We support a flexible approach to work and additional benefits that will make your life easier, such as access to private dental and/or healthcare insurance and a generous holiday allowance. We will support your long-term future with access to a University pension scheme, subsidised health and fitness facilities, and various discounts.
We welcome applications from all walks of life and champion a uniquely diverse working environment where every colleague can excel, regardless of their background or life choices. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we are reflective of society, so we are passionate about creating a diverse environment. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications that will strengthen the diversity of our team.
