Starting salary from £47,874 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £55,295 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MRI Centre Manager and Research Radiographer to join the University of East Anglia (UEA) MRI facility: the UEA Wellcome Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre (UWWBIC). The Centre houses state-of-the-art imaging facilities with a 3T Siemens Prisma whole-body scanner, which is used by researchers studying the role of various brain circuits across the themes of Brain Development, Brain Plasticity, Cognitive Neuroscience and Healthy Ageing and Dementia. These researchers include UEA scientists in the Schools of Psychology, Medicine and Health and researchers from external collaborations. Researchers primarily use the MRI system for advanced neuro applications including (but not limited to): structural MRI, quantitative MRI, high-resolution/multiband functional MRI, diffusion-weighted MRI, resting state fMRI and MR spectroscopy.
We wish to recruit a Centre Manager and Radiographer to support brain research. You would run the scanner on a day-to-day basis, oversee MRI safety, create new study protocols, provide training for researchers to become scanner operators, and manage routine administrative tasks (e.g. confirming scanner bookings, arranging scanner maintenance, maintaining appropriate records of individuals’ competencies etc.). The working pattern may involve scanning evenings and weekends as necessary (by mutual agreement).
This full-time post is available from 3 January 2025 on an indefinite basis.
UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
