- THE ROLE -
The school of Computing, Engineering and Intelligent Systems is experiencing continued growth in its Engineering Degree Apprenticeship courses and wish to expand the academic team. The post holder will initially support the delivery of teaching in mechanical engineering on BEng Hons Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Degree Apprenticeship, and lead on co-ordination of employer engagement and student recruitment/support across the school’s engineering apprenticeships. The candidate will contribute to teaching and scholarship in the school, supporting the necessary environments and relationships required to grow and support our apprenticeship courses.
- ABOUT YOU -
- An Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or a very closely related subject area.
- A teaching qualification for Higher Education, or Associate or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
- Evidence of an advanced level of knowledge and experience of Mechanical Engineering with particular emphasis on the principles and applications of: Mechanical Science or Machine Design or CAD/CAM.
- Evidence of having contributed to teaching at Higher Education (HE) University-level in relevant mechanical engineering or cognate subjects, commensurate with stage of career.
- Evidence of the successful co-ordination of project(s) or other evidence of organisational abilities (including work planning and meeting time-critical deadlines) leading to positive outcomes.
- Evidence of successful apprenticeship engagement and/or supporting apprenticeship students.
- Willingness to travel to meet employers/apprentices and as required to meet the needs of the post.
