Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting a Student Engagement Mentor to join our dedicated Student Experience and Pastoral Support team, based at our Joseph Wright Centre campus.

The Opportunity

25 hours per week 

Within this role you’ll provide support and guidance to young people who are experiencing difficulties in learning due to social, emotional and/or behavioural support needs.  You’ll help students overcome social, emotional and / or behavioural support needs which are hindering learning and progress.

About you

You’ll be highly capable of communication effectively with a wide range of people, and have excellent interpersonal skills.  Accuracy and attention to detail are essential to be successful within this role, along with competency when using IT systems.

If you have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in coaching and/or mentoring then that’s great, but if not, we will support you to gain this qualification!
