We are looking for an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to focus on the immunopathology of lung injury and inflammation in the Baillie Gifford Pandemic Science Hub (BG PSH). Our hub is unique and is comprised of scientists, clinicians, professional services staff and students whose primary aim is to use human genetics and experimental medicine to rapidly identify, evaluate and progress re-purposed drugs. The PSH is led by Professor’s Kenny Baillie and Kev Dhaliwal and the successful candidate will contribute to a large portfolio of drug discovery programmes that go from bench to bedside.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week).
The Opportunity:
The role will explore the biological impact of genes identified to be critical in lung disease and will use and develop advanced human models of lung pathology. The role will interface closely with colleagues in chemistry and HT-drug screening and contribute directly to target characterisation, prioritisation and progression.
