Faculty / Directorate
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to people’s lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. It is home to the Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences in which this post will be based.
Role
This role has 2 parts:
The department has excellent links in Balance Science and want to develop our research potential in this area further. The aim being to conduct and deliver impactful outcomes to advance the science and improvements to patients. We are ambitious and would like to develop a collaborative research centre related to balance, which you would be supporting to develop.
Teaching will be to undergraduate students; however, you would lead on developing short courses that would appeal to clinical practitioners and researchers, to advance this knowledge and skills.
There is a growing Audiology academic team and an ambitious university research programme. The role is new and so there will be the opportunity to shape its development and its aims.
Ideal Candidate
The candidate must be passionate about research, they will need to be creative and have the determination to drive the aims forward. This will require excellent communication and negotiation skills, as it is likely that several stakeholders would be involved to drive our ambition. You should have a track record of high-quality publications and experience of submitting bids for research. It would be expected that you have experience in research ethics and governance. You would need to have experience in teaching and creating material aimed at varying audiences.
