Faculty / Directorate
The Research, Business and Innovation Directorate has enterprise and innovation at its heart. The Directorate acts as a link between businesses and the university academic and research staff. We work with local, national and international businesses and organisations to establish partnerships and collaborations. We offer business advice, knowledge exchange opportunities and apprenticeships. We also provide start-up and small business support, co-working facilities and unit rentals at the university's Innovation Centre.
The Research, Business and Innovation Directorate is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and target driven self-motivated individual to support and develop knowledge exchange partnerships. The Directorate provides leadership and support for the development of profitable and, where appropriate, strategic relationships with businesses, organisations and funding bodies.
In your role as a Knowledge Exchange Officer you will work collectively with the team, Professional Services and Academic colleagues on strategic initiatives and projects, within the field of knowledge exchange, predominately focusing on Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).
You will apply specialist knowledge of developing industry/business partnerships through contract and collaborative research, Innovate UK programmes and knowledge exchange.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of enterprise and knowledge exchange in Universities and a track record of building successful relationships with the business community as well as meeting performance targets.
A clear understanding of the strategic needs, issues and decision processes of major corporations and SMEs is essential.
Being a team player and excellent communicator are qualities we value. At a key time for the university, this is a critical role and a great opportunity for an ambitious and high performing leader and influencer.
