Overall purpose of the role:

The research associate will be working with Dr Daniel Silver on an ESRC New Investigator project, “Reimagining Care Through The Commons: Developing Situated Utopian Pragmatism Across Urban Contexts”. The research associate will lead on the delivery of community-based participatory workshops in Manchester, UK and Thessaloniki, Greece.

There will be four learning projects undertaken in each city: firstly, a local people’s history project that uses memory to inform future activity; secondly, a photovoice study that examines the organisations’ practices as a response to the crisis of care; thirdly, participatory workshops to explore future alternatives of the care commons that ‘bring back’ learning to improve the organisation’s strategies; and fourthly, exhibitions that bring all the resources together to engage the wider communities in each city.

The research associate will also be responsible for producing literature reviews and working with Dr Silver to produce reports for community partners from the project.
