We are looking for a, organised and experienced Executive Officer to Dean to provide high quality professional executive assistance to the Dean of Medicine.

About Us

The University is currently applying through the General Medical Council to open a medical programme in Autumn 2027. The addition of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme to our health portfolio will enhance our overall health education provision at the University and augment the existing programmes through opportunities for inter-professional learning across the health-related programmes.  This will prepare our students for diverse and dynamic NHS healthcare teams with an understanding of shared roles and multidisciplinary, community-based teams to address health inequalities through measures such as social prescribing and integrated care pathways.

We are a small diverse team aiming to produce adaptable, collaborative, and forward-thinking healthcare professionals who are equipped to transform the health of the local communities and beyond.

About the Job

The Executive Officer to the Dean of Medicine would:

  • Provide high quality professional executive assistance to the Dean of Medicine 
  • Coordinate courses 
  • Coordinate various projects, including planning and prioritising tasks and liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
  • Work with the Dean and the School Management Team to support School committees / sub-committees and associated meetings as required. 

About You

The ideal candidate would have:

  • High performance track record in committee/meeting management
  • Experience of executive office systems and processes
  • Understanding of the Higher Education sector and broader policy contexts, as well as the ability to identify sources of further information and expertise
  • Experience of providing high levels of customer service in a fast-paced, highly demanding, changing environment whist still maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in project management including contributing to and delivering large projects and planning and prioritising work and resources on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Experience of maintaining and developing a network of internal and external stakeholders and understanding their priorities
  • Ability to organise events.
