About the Role

You don’t need a background in sustainability to thrive in this role - what matters is your ability to organise, coordinate, and drive things forward. As Carbon Project Officer, you will work closely with colleagues from Estates, engineering teams, and external consultants to deliver carbon-saving projects across the University estate.

You’ll support the delivery of approved carbon reduction projects by coordinating procurement and governance processes, managing documentation, and reporting on project progress, costs, and carbon savings. A typical day might involve liaising with consultants and engineers, updating records and spreadsheets, preparing governance papers, raising purchase orders, and ensuring projects stay on track to meet their targets.

This is a delivery-focused role that requires attention to detail, structured thinking, and a proactive mindset.

About You

  • Experience supporting or managing projects, with good organisational and coordination skills.
  • A clear, confident communication style and the ability to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Familiarity with procurement or contract processes, or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Attention to detail, and confidence working with spreadsheets, records, and reporting documents.
  • A practical mindset and a willingness to take initiative to move projects forward.

Application Process

To apply, please upload:

  • A covering letter/supporting statement
  • Your CV
  • The details of two referees

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 10 June 2025.

Interviews will take place on Friday 20 June 2025, and will be held face-to-face.
