About You
We’re looking for a passionate and dynamic Student Enterprise Advisor to support the next generation of entrepreneurs, freelancers, and innovators. Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you’ll play a key role in delivering the university’s Enterprise & Entrepreneurship strategy, embedding enterprise education across academic schools and helping students build the skills, confidence, and mindset to thrive in self-employment or start-up ventures.
We’re seeking someone with hands-on experience supporting early-stage founders or freelancers, a strong understanding of the start-up landscape, and a genuine passion for empowering student entrepreneurs. If you thrive in a fast-paced, student-centered environment and want to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Job
The Student Enterprise Advisor plays a central role in supporting and developing aspiring student freelancers and start-up founders across the university. You will contribute directly to delivering UEL’s Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Strategy, working closely with academic schools to embed enterprise education into the curriculum. Your work will help raise awareness, increase student engagement, and cultivate the entrepreneurial skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing professional world.
In addition to curriculum-based work, you’ll collaborate with the wider Enterprise Team to design and deliver a weekly programme of start-up support activities, tailored to student needs. This will include high-growth areas such as freelancing, consultancy, and early-stage venture development.
A key part of your role will involve offering one-to-one support, developing a caseload of student entrepreneurs and freelancers, and guiding them from initial idea through to incorporation and business growth.
You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering extracurricular support, including workshops, mentoring, and our flagship start-up funding programme, BACK:ED. From one-to-one coaching to programme delivery, you’ll guide students from idea stage through to incorporation and early-stage growth, with a focus on high-potential areas like freelancing and consultancy. Working with colleagues across the university and external partners, you’ll ensure the programme continues to deliver meaningful impact.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become a visible and influential part of UEL’s enterprise ecosystem, supporting the next generation of innovators and creators.
