Purpose of the Role 

Scholars School System (SSS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care to support the delivery and development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across our campuses. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the student academic experience through effective teaching, curriculum leadership, assessment, and student support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in line with academic and professional standards
  • Lead and support students throughout their academic journey, including progression and pastoral care
  • Design, develop, and lead modules; contribute to curriculum enhancement and quality assurance processes
  • Ensure timely and constructive feedback on assessments, including moderation and standardisation
  • Serve as a personal academic tutor, supporting learners’ academic development and wellbeing
  • Coordinate teaching cover during staff absences to maintain continuity in learning
  • Collaborate with professional services and attend relevant academic and operational meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using Moodle and CRM systems
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion within the learning environment
  • Engage in continuous professional development and, where appropriate, scholarly activities 

Person Specification

Essential:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant Health and Social Care discipline
  • A recognised higher education teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, FHEA)
  • Proven experience in teaching within a higher education environment
  • Demonstrated experience in module leadership and associated academic responsibilities
  • Evidence of engagement with research, scholarship, or professional practice
