Lecturer/Senior Lecturer In Musculo Skeletal Ultrasonography (MSK)

University of East London

School of Health, Sport and Bioscience

About Us

Join our innovative team to inspire the next generation of Musculoskeletal (MSK) clinicians through cutting-edge ultrasound imaging education. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established and enthusiastic academic team contributing to the delivery of postgraduate clinical programmes.

As part of the wider Allied and Public Health teaching team within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience at the University of East London, you’ll support the delivery of our Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Injection Therapy, while also contributing to related clinical and healthcare programmes.

You’ll join a school with a strong reputation in clinical sciences, a clear commitment to widening participation, and robust partnerships across East London’s health and care sector. Teaching takes place at our Stratford campus, with opportunities for blended and flexible delivery including evenings and weekends.

About the Job

We are seeking a motivated and experienced MSK clinician to contribute to the delivery and development of our postgraduate MSK ultrasound provision. You will lead and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment—both theoretical and practical—via lectures, workshops, simulation, and clinical skills labs.

You will also support clinical skill development, provide academic supervision, and contribute to research, scholarly activity, and wider School initiatives including collaborative projects and external partnerships.

A strong understanding of curriculum development, quality assurance, and clinical education is essential. Experience using simulation, virtual reality, or other innovative technologies in teaching is highly desirable.

About You

You will hold a postgraduate qualification in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (CASE accredited) and have registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, GMC). You will also bring a minimum of three years’ clinical experience in MSK ultrasound and guided injections, alongside a passion for education and innovation in health training.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in clinical teaching or supervision in a higher education or professional setting
  • Confidence using technology-enhanced learning methods, including simulation
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and programme delivery in a healthcare context

We particularly welcome applications from individuals with a track record in postgraduate education, or those working towards recognition in higher education teaching (e.g., Fellowship of Advance HE).
