The University has experienced significant growth in turnover through the development of strategic partnerships, international activity and income diversification. To support this growth and development, the Finance Directorate has undergone a transformation and is looking to recruit a full time Management Accountant to work in the Financial Reporting team.
The Financial Reporting team is responsible for the provision of a full range of reporting services including management accounting to support the Senior Management Team and budget holders within the University.
As a member of the team the post holder will support the provision of a professional management accounting service including business planning and budget setting processes, the production of monthly management accounts and the completion of quarterly forecasts. This requires the post holder to work closely with colleagues from across the Directorate and the wider University.
You will be a finance professional with experience of working in a management accounting team in a medium to large organisation, preferably in the Higher or Further Education sectors. You will have gained knowledge of accounting for fixed assets and projects and be keen to expand your knowledge and skills in supporting the busy financial reporting team.
The successful candidate will hold full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians and/or be a Part Qualified Accountant. There will be the opportunity to continue your studies.
The candidate will have excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills along with the ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines. They will be able to demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and advanced IT skills, including excel and financial reporting systems.
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is split between home and office working. The Finance Directorate places a strong emphasis on professional development, with formal and informal training provided for the successful candidate. Other key benefits of working at the University include membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday entitlements, flexible working and health and wellbeing support.
