Join the University of Hull as a Product Owner, Digital Platforms

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for digital transformation? Do you thrive on managing complex technical products and delivering real value through collaboration and innovation? If so, we want to hear from you.

We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner to lead the development and evolution of key digital platforms that are essential to the University’s operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of systems that underpin our campus experience—platforms like Planon, Genetec, Filestream, and Scientia—ensuring they deliver maximum value to staff and students alike.

About the Role

As Product Owner, you’ll be the strategic and technical lead for a suite of enterprise platforms that don’t currently have dedicated teams but are critical to our success. You’ll work closely with IT specialists, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to:

  • Develop and communicate clear product roadmaps
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Align platform capabilities with evolving organisational needs
  • Champion user experience and service excellence

This is a new role in a growing Product Ownership function, offering the chance to make a real impact from day one.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Has experience managing large, complex digital products or ecosystems
  • Can balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery
  • Is confident working across multiple technologies and stakeholder groups
  • Brings strong leadership, communication, and agile delivery skills
  • Understands the unique challenges of public sector or higher education environments

Why Join Us?

At the University of Hull, we’re investing in digital transformation to enhance every aspect of university life. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking Technology Services team within our Infrastructure Services Directorate, helping to create a seamless, digitally enabled campus.

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to shape the systems that shape our university.
