The role holders’ primary duties will be to support and develop the University’s Financial Systems (Currently Oracle EBS). The role holder will also provide advice, guidance and support and carry out all aspects of business process and systems analysis, software maintenance and development; liaising as required with other internal IT teams and external suppliers as appropriate.
The role holder will work as part of a professional service delivery team dedicated to the provision of an efficient, effective and quality driven Information Technology service to staff and students within the Corporate, Administrative, Academic Research and Learning and Teaching functions of the University.
The role holder will provide a highly professional, friendly and customer focused face to the services offered by University IT.
The role holder will take responsibility for:-
· The specification, design, development, integration, testing and documentation of large or complex systems, selecting the most appropriate design standards, methods and tools consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensure they are applied effectively. You will review others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. You will contribute to policies for the selection of architecture components. You will evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major design options and assess and manage associated risks. You will ensure that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements.
· The specification of user/system interfaces, including validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls. You will assess associated risks, and specify recovery routines and contingency procedures. You will assist with the translation of logical designs into physical designs.
· The maintenance of application support processes, and check that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. You will use application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
This position is full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended.
