The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

The Brain Health Centre (BHC) is an integrated research and clinical assessment centre established to bridge the gap between research advances and clinical practice. The BHC is led by Professor Clare Mackay. The BHC Coordinator post holder will be responsible for managing the projects and coordinating research carried out by the BHC.  

About the Role

The post is funded for two years from 1 October 2025 and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post is full time; however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro-rata basis. The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis with minimum 2-3 days based on site (Monday and Thursday Team days/Tuesday BHC Clinic Day)

You will take a lead role in preparation and submission of ethical applications to maintain the BHC research activities and develop and manage the recruitment of a cohort of control participants for the BHC research database. You will take a lead role in Patient and Public Involvement/Engagement (PPIE) activities relating to the research conducted at the BHC and interface with nursing, medical and research staff within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.  

About You

You will have or be close to completing a PhD in clinical or cognitive neuroscience or a relevant subject along with experience of independent planning and management of a research project, and experience of acquisition and analysis of clinical and cognitive data in healthy elderly and clinical samples. You should have excellent organisational and communication skills and work well within an interdisciplinary team.
