- THE ROLE -
With the ongoing expansion of undergraduate teaching in primary care through the School of Medicine at Ulster University and the roll out of Queen’s University C25 there is a need to develop an infrastructure to support the governance and expansion of education in Primary Care who will work together under the Northern Ireland General Practice Clinical Placement Alliance (NIGPCPA).
The GP Locality Lead is responsible for the leadership and oversight of primary care undergraduate medical student placements within the locality of their respective Federation Support Unit (FSU). The main purpose of the job is to provide leadership within their FSU locality for the governance, recruitment, quality assurance and tutor development in collaboration with University partners.
This is a newly created post and the post holder will be expected to be primarily involved with the practices in their FSU locality but will work in close collaboration with other GP Locality Leads across Northern Ireland, and colleagues from Ulster University and Queen’s University through the NIGPCPA. The GP Locality Leads would be expected to deputise for each other/cross cover leave and represent their locality at the NIGPCPA meetings.
- ABOUT YOU -
- Honours Degree at 2:1 or higher in Medicine
- Hold registration with the General Medical Council
- Licence to practice with the General Medical Council and are on the GP Register
