The Role
At Ravensbourne we are looking for a Health and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our Health and Wellbeing Support team within our Student Services.
Our Health and Wellbeing Coordinators are at the centre of the student experience, providing wellbeing support through 1:1 meetings, creating wellbeing events and promoting mental health support throughout the university, and working with external agencies to create personal support plans for the students that need this.
You will support students in their journey at Ravensbourne, working closely with our other coordinators and managers and other departments, you will help them reach their full potential. You will organise and lead student wellbeing meetings, including those that reach out to relevant academic staff and guardians or parents of the student. The coordinator will be expected to lead the meeting and ensure a supportive and positive environment to discuss any issues, focusing on resolution and clearly defined next steps.
The role involves student mental health support, planning and delivering wellbeing events, feeding in to the development of the wellbeing offer for students, and working with the Safeguarding Leads to refer any safeguarding concerns in a timely and appropriate manner
You will be able to work flexibly including out of hours working on some evenings and weekends as required. You will build relationships with external support groups including charities and the NHS as well as relevant health and wellbeing stakeholders, with a focus on creating a responsive directory of services that students can be referred to.
Strong communication with our Student Services teams and other departments is essential.

The Candidate
You have …
A good understand of the mental health needs of University students and how best to support students and vulnerable young adults.
An assured approach to event planning and delivery and a good understanding of how to approach and increase engagement with students.
Experience of providing individual support and demonstrate a compassionate and effective approach to safeguarding and wellbeing support.
Experience of offering support to young people or young adults around mental health and wellbeing. Experience of managing a high caseload of students with complex needs, putting in individual support plans, leading meetings and referring safeguarding issues in a timely and efficient manner.
