About Us
Located within UEL’s developing Health Campus and benefiting from numerous professional and academic partnerships, the School of Childhood and Social Care is a beacon of excellence for human flourishing. With research-informed professional practice centres in Early Childhood, Young People, and Families; Social Care; Counselling and Wellbeing; and Education, the School complements UEL’s existing Hospital & Primary Care Training Hub and planned Primary & Social Care Practice Centre.

About the Job
We are seeking to appoint a Technician to join the Psychology technical team within the Office of the Health campus to provide high quality support for our teaching and research community in the School of Childhood and Social Care. As part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, you will be responsible for managing space bookings, demonstrating detailed technologies in the school, as well as being active in survey and experimental design to support teaching and research within the school.
About You
You will provide the highest quality, multi-specialist technical expertise and support to students, staff and external partners for teaching and research related activities (campus based, distance learning & collaborative) in the Department & School. You will be customer-focussed, with excellent communication skills and have the ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems. Experience of working as a Psychology or similar technician in HE/FE will be an advantage.
You will have a degree in Psychology or related discipline and have the ability to code in at least one language (Python, MATLAB for example) with knowledge of both Windows and Apple Mac operating systems. You will have a strong interest in technological advances as applied to behavioural disciplines (AR/XR/VR, AI tools).
You will have the ability to develop appropriate solutions using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, PowerApps). Familiarity with psychological experiment design, experimental laboratory equipment (eyetracking, EEG) & Psychological data analysis and visualisation (SPSS, R, Python) as well as knowledge of Health & Safety practices an advantage.
