Reward Advisor
University of East London
We’re the University of East London (UEL) founded in 1898 and proud to change lives through education. Our goal is to advance industry 5.0 careers-first education and provide a clear path to the jobs and opportunities of the future. We’re committed to driving diversity in the 5.0 talent pipeline, working in partnership to promote talent wherever it is found and creating a balanced, inclusive, and green future.
But we can't achieve this goal alone. We need forward-thinking, innovative, and curious individuals like you to join our community and help us craft our future. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people who share your passion for creating positive change. We’re an inclusive and welcoming community that is constantly moving forward, never satisfied with the status quo.
About the JobAs our Reward Advisor, you’ll play a vital part in delivering UEL’s reward strategy helping to ensure that our approach to pay, benefits, and recognition is consistent, transparent, and equitable. Working at the heart of the People & Culture team, you’ll provide trusted advice on everything from pay benchmarking and job evaluation to benefits and recognition programmes.
You’ll also drive continuous improvement, lead on equal pay and gender pay gap reporting, and work closely with colleagues and external partners to make sure our reward practices remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with our values.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll have real scope to shape processes, deepen your expertise in reward, and make a tangible difference in a progressive, people-centred organisation.
About YouYou’ll have solid experience in reward and benefits including job evaluation and salary benchmarking, ideally within Higher Education or the public sector. Analytical and detail-oriented, you’re confident interpreting data, advising on pay structures, and supporting annual pay reviews.
You combine technical knowledge with a collaborative approach, building credibility and trust across all levels of the organisation. Your understanding of employment law, occupational pension schemes, and current policy developments will help you guide and influence stakeholders effectively.
You’ll be CIPD or CIPP qualified (or bring equivalent experience) and thrive in a role where you can balance operational delivery with contributing to broader strategic initiatives.
Benefits PackageAt UEL, we believe that a great role is about more than just a salary. It’s about the complete package, including our outstanding work environment and inclusive culture.
We offer a genuinely competitive salary, dependent on experience, and a range of excellent benefits.
