Université Paris Dauphine – PSL, London campus seeks to recruit an Academic Assistant to contribute to the Academic team through the coordination of teaching activities and assistance with academic and administrative operations that ensure the effective running of the campus programmes.

Université Paris Dauphine – PSL is a prestigious French university, offering a wide-range of degrees and programmes in the sphere of the organisational and decision sciences (economics, management, social sciences, law, political sciences, mathematics and computer science). EQUIS accredited since 2009, the University is a leading international higher education establishment and is highly placed in the international academic rankings. Université Paris-Dauphine is a founding member of PSL (Paris Sciences et Lettres Research University) which is 24th in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and 2nd in Times Higher Education best young universities. High-level research is undertaken with academics at PSL having been awarded 27 Nobel Prizes and 10 Fields Medals.

The London Campus welcomes around 300 students each year for a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education programmes. It was registered with the UK Office for Students as an English Higher Education provider in 2022.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Academic Assistant will support the academic operations of the London campus, reporting to the Undergraduate Programmes Director and Deputy General Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Undergraduate Programmes Director in the coordination of undergraduate programmes
  • Providing administrative and logistical support to lecturers and academic leads, including printing, distributing, and communicating teaching materials to students, as well as helping to organise class-related documentation
  • Ensuring timely circulation of course information, updates and schedules to both faculty and students
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of academic activities and contributing to the smooth operation of teaching schedules
  • Invigilating midterm and final examinations, ensuring compliance with academic regulations and assessment procedures
  • Acting as a point of contact for students and faculty regarding academic documentation and classroom arrangements
  • Preparation of external examiner documentation and collate reports
  • Oversight of and follow up of individual Tutor Moodle sections/pages

Person specification 

  • Positive and proactive attitude, with a strong sense of teamwork and service
  • Rigorous and attentive to detail
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken (minimum level B2+ required)
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to quickly learn and use specific administrative software related to timetabling, grading, and invoicing (training provided)
  • Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree as a minimum. Master’s degree is desirable
  • Speaking French is an advantage

Other requirements

  • Authorised to work in the UK
  • Enthusiasm and a clear sense of purpose in supporting the organisation and ensuring the successful operation of the academic programmes within a higher education environment

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). 

Salary

The position is offered at 0.8 FTE, with a salary ranging from £30,750 to £33,500 per annum (full-time equivalent), depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
