Applications are invited for a Centre Administrator, to administer activities for the Material Culture Hub within the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research; acting as the point of contact and administrative support for the co-directors, academic staff, and other researchers and students in carrying out the Hub's programme, and as liaison with the interdepartmental Material Culture Forum and other relevant university initiatives. The role supports the sharing and advancement of training and research on material culture and oversees the promotion and delivery of a programme of research-related activities for a network of participants, including seminars, lectures, and practical workshops.

The role holder works with the Material Culture Hub's Directors to manage day-to-day activities whilst developing and maintaining administrative policy and processes for the centre in order to ensure the smooth running of learning and research activities. Day-to-day activities include managing the Hub's office space and providing a welcoming and creative environment for users. A major aspect is providing administrative support for the organisation of seminar series, reading groups, workshops and lectures. Other tasks include updating the hub's website, maintaining communication with academic communities, and publicising events.

You should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office and related programmes and have the ability to manage and maintain web platforms. You should have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to produce basic multi-media materials (flyers/posters, slides, film) and capability at using social media would be desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
