About Us

The Strategic Development & Delivery team works in partnership with stakeholders across the institution, combining our specialist expertise, sector knowledge and institutional awareness to support the delivery of our vision to 2028 and beyond. This is a new Directorate for UEL and comprises of four main portfolios;

Insights & Decision Support, Strategy & Performance, Portfolio & Benefits, and Change & Improvement. These four service areas will facilitate effective decision making, improve our staff and student experience, and deliver lasting positive change.

About the Job

As an Institutional Modelling Manager, you will use your proficiency with data tools and technologies to derive high quality insight from a range of institutional data and information. You will work with stakeholders across the institution to exploit the data assets available, modelling UEL’s strategic plan in reaching critical business targets. The role will:

Maintaining and developing the Business Planning Model to deliver snapshots, forecasts and projections

  • Through data modelling, simulate business scenarios to provide strategic options
  • Identification and exploitation of new data sources to further understand business problems and ambitions, identifying and exploiting new software as appropriate
  • Development of workflows to improve analysis efficiency through providing outputs that optimise and maximise datasets
  • Utilising data pipelines, automation and integration methodologies to enhance our decision-making capability
  • Working across stakeholders to develop meaningful articulation of strategy to reach stated institutional ambitions to support alignment across the institution
  • Horizon scanning to identify areas of opportunity and market competitiveness

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience in using and developing data models to support an institution’s decision-making capacity and key processes. They will have good technical capabilities in using systems to adapt, enhance, and run data models that provide meaningful analysis and allow against institutional targets. Moreover, they will be capable in using ETL software and SQL to deliver timely outputs for the organisation.

As part of a supportive directorate, we are seeking a candidate to join a new modelling team while working across the directorate to create synergies with our three service areas as well as academic units and professional services.
