Role Summary
The Department of Finance, part of the triple accredited Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham, seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Finance (Education focused) for a fixed term of 12 months. This role forms part of a wider investment into the School’s academic excellence.
The successful candidate will undertake research of international excellence and contribute to knowledge exchange activities within their discipline. They will also contribute to teaching and learning on both new and established programmes, as well as undertake leadership and service activities in line with the strategic objectives of the Department, the Business School, and the College.
The Department of Finance is a major contributor to the success of Birmingham Business School, delivering internationally excellent research and teaching across the whole portfolio of programmes including the BSc Accounting and Finance, MSc Financial Management, MSc Investments, MSc Financial Technology and the new MSc Sustainable Finance. Our vibrant and diverse team of 27 staff include award winning teaching staff as well as world renowned research active staff who contribute to the wider field of Finance and beyond through publications in top ranked journals, organising key events and conferences worldwide, obtaining funding from national and international research councils and grant schemes, and many holding positions on editorial boards of internationally recognised journals.
